THE
RAILROAD PARK IS PLANNING A NEW MODEL RAILROAD EXHIBIT!
The
thirty-acre McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park, which opened in
1975, is the City of Scottsdale's most popular park. Over 600,000
people enjoy the Paradise and Pacific 5 1/2 scale railroad,
carousel, museum displays, arboretum, birthday parties, concerts,
and other special events each year. Currently there are several
railroad clubs sharing limited space and availability at the
park. Most of the viewing of the displays is through building
exterior windows. The intent of the model railroad exhibit project
is to provide the clubs with more efficient space, and provide
a user friendly, ADA accessible model railroad facility. The
new facility will be staffed with City of Scottsdale employees
to provide for a seven (7) day a week operation.
The new facility will be a cost effective design that matches
the current Architecture theme at the park. The internal components
will include, but are not limited to, the following elements:
Railroad
Club Exhibit Space | State of the art |
Customer friendly | Functional for club members
|
Automated displays | Each club will be responsible
for replicating a part of the state of Arizona, and the related
railroads.
