Arabian horses – 1954

Anne McCormick opened Paradise Park show ring for her Arabian horses on the northern section of McCormick’s ranch. After helping established the first All Arabian Horse Show held at the Biltmore Resort in 1955, she was instrumental in moving the show permanently to Scottsdale, taking place very winter at paradise Park until 1978 (nine years after her death and several years into the development of McCormick Ranch as a master-planned community). In 1963, Mrs. McCormick sold her prized Arabian, Naborr, to Tom Chauncey for $150,000 – the highest price pad for an Arabian horse at the time.
