Play Spaces

The McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park is a destination for play. We have two unique play areas that are open daily. Our state-of-the-art playground features swings, slides, multiple climbing structures and tons of spinning toys. The playground is a popular destination to have fun and burn some energy. The playground has two designated play zones for ages 2-5 and 5-12 years.

The park’s iconic Western Town was built along the tracks of the Paradise & Pacific Railroad. In 1978 the city of Scottsdale and the Scottsdale Railroad & Mechanical Society invited architectural students from Arizona State University to submit designs for a miniature Western Town play structure to be built along the train tracks of the new park. After review of several submissions, the winning design was constructed and continues to be one of the most popular amenities in the park.

Splashpad

Cool off and have fun at 5,000-square-foot splash pad, designed for all ages to enjoy! This interactive water play area features multiple bucket elements, spraying, tipping, and splashing to keep kids laughing and active on warm days. With plenty of space to run, play, and relax nearby, it’s the perfect spot for families to beat the heat.

Currently closed for the season. Will reopen in March 2026.
