Wild West Fun Year Round

The McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park is a destination for play. We have two unique play areas that are open daily. Our state-of-the-art railroad themed playground features ladders, straight and curving slides, towers and, of course, trains. The playground is a popular destination in the summer, as it is fully shaded and has a misting water feature. The playground has specific features for 2-5 year olds and 5-12 year olds.

The park’s iconic Western Town was built along the tracks of the Paradise & Pacific Railroad. In 1978 the city of Scottsdale and the Scottsdale Railroad & Mechanical Society invited architectural students from Arizona State University to submit designs for a miniature Western Town play structure to be built along the train tracks of the new park. After review of several submissions, the winning design was constructed and continues to be one of the most popular amenities in the park.
